How to: Install PowerPoint 7.0 on PC.
Solution:
Close all applications, open the 'Add/Remove' icon in the 'Control Panel' group, and click 'Install/Uninstall'.
Do the following to install PowerPoint from the Microsoft Office 95 CD:
NOTE: Make sure the computer on which PowerPoint will be installed satisfies the minimum requirements.
1) Close any open Windows applications.
2) Click the 'Start' button to display the Windows 'Start' menu.

3) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'.

4) Open the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon. (The Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box appears.)
5) Click the 'Install/Uninstall' tab.
6) Select 'Microsoft Office' or 'Microsoft Office Professional' from the list of installed applications.

NOTE: If Microsoft Office was originally installed, the Microsoft Office Professional CD cannot be used to install PowerPoint. If Microsoft Office Professional was originally installed, the Microsoft Office CD cannot be used to install PowerPoint.
7) Click 'Add/Remove...'. (The Setup dialog box appears.)
8) Insert the Office 95 installation CD ROM disk or diskette 1. (A prompt appears.)
9) Click 'OK'.
10) Wait for the Welcome to Installation Maintenance Program screen to appear, and click 'Add/Remove...'.

NOTE 1: If any applications are running, the 'Microsoft Office Professional 95 Setup' dialog box recommends that the applications are closed before continuing and lists any applications currently running. Click 'Exit' and close all open applications.
NOTE 2: Select all four corners of the monitor screen by running the mouse cursor over all the edges for a hidden toolbar or shortcut bar; these MUST be closed before continuing the installation.
11) Select the 'PowerPoint' check box in the 'Options' window. (A dark or dimmed check appears in the PowerPoint check box, Microsoft PowerPoint is highlighted, and a description of the selection appears in the Description group. At the bottom of the Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Maintenance dialog box, the 'Space required on <drive>' box, the 'Space available on <drive>' box, and the 'Components to Add' box are updated, where <drive> is the path and filename of the PowerPoint installation.)
NOTE 1: The 'Components to Remove' field is ONLY updated when removing components.
NOTE 2: If the 'PowerPoint' check box appears dimmed, only certain components of PowerPoint will be installed.
12) (Optional) Click 'Change Option...', to select the desired components for the PowerPoint installation. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Microsoft PowerPoint dialog box appears with the Options list box containing a list of PowerPoint components.)
13) Select the desired check boxes in the 'Options' list box. (At the bottom of the Microsoft Office Professional 95 - PowerPoint dialog box , the 'Space required on<drive>' box, the 'Space available on <drive>' box, and the 'Components to Add' box are updated, where <drive> is the path and filename of the PowerPoint installation.)
NOTE 1: The 'Components to Remove' field is ONLY updated when removing components.
NOTE 2: Click 'Select All' to select all the components of PowerPoint.
14) (Optional) Click 'Change Option...', to add utilities for reading other presentations. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Presentation Translators dialog box appears and the Options list box now contains a list of presentation translators.)
NOTE: 'Change Option...' is available only if the 'Presentation Translators' check box is highlighted.
15) Select the desired presentation translator's check box or check boxes.
NOTE: Click 'Select All' to select all the presentation translators.
16) Click 'OK'. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - PowerPoint dialog box reappears.)
NOTE: Click 'Cancel' to abort the installation.
17) Click 'OK'.(The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Maintenance dialog box reappears.)
NOTE: Click 'Cancel' to abort the installation.
18) Click 'Continue' to start the installation.
